Unboxing November 2023 Dungeon Crate

Find Out What We Put in the November 2023 Dungeon Crate

We’re especially thankful for our Dungeon Crate members during November because they let us curate a box of RPG loot just for them! If you’re thinking of becoming a member or giving a Dungeon Crate loot box subscription as a gift, you probably want to know what comes in a crate. Part of the fun is not knowing exactly what you’ll get but let’s walk you through what we piled onto our plates (and into the boxes) for this month’s Dungeon Crates. There’s a tasty one-shot, heavy duty metal D20, handy notepad, minis, and more. Bon appetit, adventurer!

Premium Metal D20 from Norse Foundry

Dungeon Crate members always roll with authority but especially when using our featured item for November, a premium metal D20 from Norse Foundry. We ordered a selection of 5 different colors of this heavyweight metal die, just to keep things interesting. We’re huge fans of Norse Foundry for their original designs, dedication to quality, and superior customer service.

Dragon Rubber Ducky

Thanksgiving = poultry so an adorably ferocious dragon rubber ducky seemed appropriate for the November crate. You can use this dragon ducky in gameplay to strike fear into the hearts of men and beasts or leave it on your desk as a fun way to remember that you’d rather be adventuring hard rather than hardly working.

Prairie Tick Queen RPG Mini from Reaper Miniatures

One of this month’s mini models was the Prairie Tick Queen from Reaper Miniatures. This vermin was sculpted by artist Bob Ridolfi and came from the Savage Worlds Bones Classic line.

Mystery RPG Mini

Just like gravy, when it comes to minis, more is better! That’s why we added an extra mystery mini into this month’s offerings. Player characters, monsters, zombies, who knows what you might find here.

Gridded Dungeon Mapper Notepad - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

Our gridded Dungeon Mapper notepad is a Dungeon Crate exclusive item that’s gridded for your pleasure. This handy gridded notepad makes it easy to sketch out your dungeon crawl as you go or create new dungeons while you doodle.

Full Set of RPG Dice

Dice goblins (or gremlins) require regular additions to their clickity clackity math rock hoards. We aim to please with a full set of polyhedral dice.

Precision Paint Brush for RPG Minis

When painting minis, you need a precision paint brush, just like the one we added into November’s crate. The handle has a comfortable, ergonomic design and the slim brush lets you bring out those teeny tiny details. Folks could use this paint brush to bring life to the two new minis in the crate and to tackle all those minis they haven’t gotten around to painting yet.

Set of 3 Food-Inspired Distance Marker Bookmarks - Dungeon  Crate Exclusive

Inspired by this month’s food fight encounter, our art director wanted to fold even more foodie images into the mix so he created this set of 3 distance marker bookmarks. Each of these Dungeon Crate exclusive bookmarks doubles as a distance marker, has its own colorful food attacks design, and reverses to a one-inch grid pattern.

Original DnD 5E Encounter. Food Fight: Top Chef of Halcyon - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

We always include an original encounter in each of our crates. Sometimes it’s a one-shot encounter for D&D 5E, and other times it’s a full length adventure written for Pathfinder 2E and D&D 5E. This month it was Food Fight: Top Chef of Halcyon, a fun foodie-inspired D&D 5E romp written by Dungeon Crate founder, Wayne Brekke for levels 1-3. While designed for D&D 5E, with a few modifications, you can play this encounter with most any fantasy TTRPG.

Here’s what adventurers were up against: Your party is in town for a special event in Hammersvauld. Four elite chefs have been summoned to a public banquet to showcase their best recipes in a huge competition. Prestigious nobles have gathered to judge the dishes and award the title of Top Chef. But one contestant has a trick up their apron and intends to win with a spicy spell as his secret ingredient. The result is a culinary calamity!

Food Fight Food Token Card - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

Another Dungeon Crate exclusive, we included a double-sided Food Fight food tokens card. Cut out these illustrated food-comes-alive tokens and you’ll have a pile of food that you can use to play the adventure (you’ll need ‘em!). Flip the tokens over to mark the dead.

Because we all go a little overboard in November, we tucked in additional goodies just for members.

November 2023 Digital Dungeon Crate

Last but not least, we gave all members — whether they get the digital-only version or get the physical crate — access to our fully loaded Digital Dungeon Crate. Downloads included a PDF of the adventure, map, stat cards, and more.

Dungeon Crate Members Get 10% Off Our Online Store!

The Digital Dungeon Crate members-only code is also good for 10% off our online store, all month long!
