Unboxing October 2025 Dungeon Crate
Wondering What’s in a Dungeon Crate?
This virtual unboxing is a great way to get a taste of the kinds of things we add into our monthly RPG loot subscription box.
October is spooky season, adventurer. We handed out full size treats for RPG fright nights, like ghastly Halloween-themed dice, dragon familiars, a monstrous mini, witch-tastic encounter, and more. Hop on your broom and we’ll fly you through all the adventurous loot our members found in their October Dungeon Crate.
Mystery RPG Horror Dice 1 of 7 Designs - Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Our members got a resealable dice bag with a spooky, original design that included a full set of Halloween-inspired polyhedral dice. There were seven designs and color combinations. Witch brooms, skulls and bones, jack-o’-lanterns, ghosties, and more in a variety of candy colors. Members can use the resealable bag to store their dice and take them to game night.
Dragon Keyring
Everyone got a fierce little dragon to protect their keys in style. There were a variety of dragon colors, including shimmering solids, dreamy dual tones, and technicolor brilliance. The dragon came complete with a quality keyring and heavy-duty neodymium magnet so members could decide the best way to display their dragon buddy.
Flight Stand - Dungeon Crate & Timmy’s Treehouse
It’s super handy to use this clear acrylic stand to lift a mini to new heights and give it the illusion of flight. Perfect for the shadow creatures in this month’s adventure and for any time a player character or monster needs a lift. This flight stand was designed by us and custom cut of quality acrylic by our friends at Timmy’s Treehouse.
Mystery Monster Miniature Figure
That’s a mouthful! Just like your Halloween treat bag, members didn’t know which monster mini they got in this month’s crate but it was sure to be deadly. The great thing about minis is you can make the monstrous details pop by giving it a custom paint job (we recommend priming the minis we gave out in October for best results) or simply play it as-is.
Bookmark Set
Folks got a dragon bookmark to add a little magic while keeping their place in the monster manual or that dragon fantasy book. They also got an iconic horror knife bookmark to stab into their notebook full of spooky adventure ideas or latest horror novel.
Neutral-System Encounter: The Witch of Blackwood Hollow – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Our horror movie-inspired encounter this month was a dark and twisted, system-neutral tale designed for third to fifth level players. System neutral means you can play this encounter as-is, or with just a little tweaking, with your favorite RPG platform: DnD, Shadowdark, Pathfinder, or whatever you’re into.
This original encounter was written by Laurie & Wayne Brekke and is set in our sandbox world of Halcyon but can easily be dropped into your own campaign setting.
Here’s what players are up against:
In a world of dark horrors and high adventure, one adventuring party is hired to decode a stolen Book of Shadows and stop a village witch. Can they decode the journal, navigate the haunted forest, survive attacks from beyond the veil, and find out what exactly is going on with the Witch of Blackwood Hollow?
PDFs of the Original Adventure in the October 2025 Digital Dungeon Crate
We know plenty of Game Masters who like using both the printed adventures and PDF versions like those we add into our Digital Dungeon Crate. That’s why we offer anyone who gets their crate delivered to their castle doors a digital version too.
Some GMs have gone digital-only, which is why we also offer another subscription that’s just our Digital Dungeon Crate. These downloads include a PDF of that month’s encounter, maps, and more.
The Secret Digital Crate Code Gives Members 10% Off the Dungeon Crate Store
Each month we email members the secret code to access their Digital Dungeon Crate. This code also gets them 10% off our online store, all month long. Our online store is loaded with RPG goodies, lifestyle loot, and some fun cosplay gear. Come raid our treasury to discover a variety of full-length adventures, one-shot encounters, evil traps, smart charts, and random room encounters. Plus lifestyle wearables, minis galore, a huge collection of dice sets in all types and sizes, handy gameplay tokens, and so much more.
