Fridays at the Tavern is a series of free recipes we offer you to make your game days (or nights) even more epic.

This recipe is a super easy and beautifully balanced fall sangria with all the flavors that make it perfect for your Halloween and all autumn game sessions. It’s designed to create a batch for your whole party.

Tip: Make & chill a few hours before your guests arrive. Sangria is best when the flavors have time to blend.


Samhain Sangria (Fall Sangria)

Batched recipe serves six:

1 bottle of dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigo)

1 cup apple cider (fresh pressed is best)

1/2 cup brandy

1/4 cup orange liqueur

A few dashes Angostura bitters

Aromatic Add-Ins (choose them all or even just a few):

2 cinnamon sticks

4 whole cloves

2 whole star anise

1 apple, thinly sliced

1 orange, thinly sliced

1 pear, thinly sliced

Optional Garnishes:

Thinly sliced apple

Thinly sliced orange

cinnamon stick

star anise

Drink Actions: 

Pour ingredients into a pitcher and let chill for 2 hours. Serve over ice with optional garnishes in a goblet.
