First Edition: Dungeon Crate Magazine
Our founder, Wayne Brekke (who has been playing & GMing since the early 80s) has been wanting something more to add to our crates. When he first heard that RPG zines were a thing, he got excited to read something like Dragon Magazine, and others from back in the day. But while today’s zines include great encounters, it just wasn’t enough. So, just like eleven years ago when he started the world’s first RPG loot crate, Wayne got to work creating a magazine loaded with so much more than just an adventure and maps. It has that too but also includes charts, RPG-related games, interviews with cool people, and more.
Mini Dice Tray
Super handy! Dungeon Crate members could use this right-sized faux leather dice tray to keep dice rolls in check and their host’s table protected. Strong snaps at the corners make this little valet easy to bring with you wherever the dice rolls take you. The color they got was all up to luck of the dice roll: red, black, brown, green, grey, or pink.
Roll High Never Die Vinyl Decal Sticker - Dungeon Crate Exclusive
Nat 20, baby! This durable vinyl RPG lifestyle decal is weather-resistant, ultra cool, and easy to install. It’s designed for outdoors or in so is perfect for decorating a car window, laptop cover, or game room window.
Character Sheet Notepad – Dungeon Crate Exclusive
We updated the info of our mini character sheets to make them even more usable. Perfect for GMs and players, these character sheet notepads make rolling up a quick NPC or new character easy. They are part of our original line of Essential Gameplay Notepads, found on our website. At 6x4”, they are just the right size to take with you anywhere.
Mystery Miniature Figure - Reaper Miniatures
Orcs, oxidation beasts, spirits, or terrain. Part of the fun is discovering what mini each member got this month. This unpainted plastic mini comes from Reaper Miniatures and is ready to paint (no priming required) or play as is.
Two D20s to Roll With Advantage
D20s are the heart of the game. We told members to use these two to roll with advantage and keep the velvet bag for storing your dice or keeping your gameplay coins handy.
Xander’s Lost Orb – RPG encounter by Kevin Coffey (starts on page 4 of Dungeon Crate Magazine)
This is an original adventure written for 5E that has been updated and includes conversion notes for ShadowDark RPG. With a few modifications, and your trusty core rulebooks, you can play it with nearly any fantasy roleplaying game.
Here’s what your adventurers are up against:
For years, a powerful artifact was lost. His kingdom beset on all sides by orc raiders, a young lord asks you to find and recover the artifact to help save the kingdom. Is your adventuring party up to the task?
PDFs of the Original Encounter & More in the March 2026 Digital Dungeon Crate
Many Game Masters we know like using both the printed adventures and PDF versions like those we add into our Digital Dungeon Crate. That’s why we offer anyone who gets their crate delivered to their castle doors a digital version too. The downloads include a PDF of that month’s encounter plus maps, and this month it includes a digital version of Dungeon Crate Magazine too.
