Unboxing September 2023 Dungeon Crate

Find Out What Was In the September 2023 Dungeon Crate

Ahh September. Warm days, cooler evenings, and the siren call of adventure. Dungeon Crate is the best RPG loot crate and we’ll show you why. Let’s walk you through what we loaded into this month’s Dungeon Crates. There was a watery one-shot, mystery mini dice, handy notepads, and more. Take a look!

Faux Leather Roll-Up Travel Case

Our feature item for September was an antique-look faux leather take-along case that opens to reveal organized storage for wands of writing, paint brushes, or whatever you need to take with you on your traveling adventures.

Mystery Halfling Dice by Foam Brain Games

We invited our members to open the mysterious green bag of Mystery Halfling Dice by Foam Brain Games to discover what color of mini RPG dice set they got. Each set included 7 mini dice: D4, D6, D8, D10, D%, D12, and D20. We love mystery loot and these offerings from Foam Brain are especially fun.

Undead Pirate Skeleton Mini Printed by Omaha 3D Prints

This month’s model was a male undead pirate skeleton that members could use as one of the pirate crew ghasts in our one-shot or for any other watery RPG campaign. The mini was part of Mia Kay’s successful Kickstarter, The Pirates Collection, and was printed of quality resin for us by our friends at Omaha 3D Prints.

Gridded Dungeon Mapper Notepad — Dungeon Crate Exclusive

Gridded for your pleasure, the dungeon mapper notepad in our September loot crate makes it easy to sketch out dungeon crawls as you go or create new dungeons while you pretend to “take notes” the old school way in boring meetings. It’s a Dungeon Crate exclusive!

Detailed Item Tracker Notepad — Dungeon Crate Exclusive

The ultra handy item tracker notepad was designed to help you keep a close eye on all those magical goodies you keep finding along your way. This Dungeon Crate exclusive notepad is organized with check boxes for item type and rarity plus a place for you to doodle an image and write out bullet points.

DnD 5E Original Level 7 Encounter - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

Our Dungeon Crate exclusive adventure this month was an original level 7 one-shot written by Floyd Cocklin, called The Jewels of the Onasha. Floyd wrote it as a follow-up to the Crucible of the Onasha, which was an encounter he wrote for us back way back in November of 2017! But it can easily be played as a stand-alone. This encounter was designed for DnD 5E but with a few modifications, you can play it with most any fantasy TTRPG.

Here’s what adventurers were up against: The adventurers become immersed in a plan by the Onasha elders of the Isle of Blue to hide the pieces of a sacred artifact around the island. But a wave of complications threatens to drown their efforts.

Magical Item Stat Card - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

Companion pieces to our one-shot include a magical item and character stat cards. First up is the magical item stat card, which shows the palekana vault, a rare, wondrous item that is blessed by Onasha elders but libel to stir up some trouble with a sea spirit if you’re not careful. This full-color card gives players a visual on the front and has handy, quick-reference D&D 5E stats on the back for GMs.

Character Stat Card - Dungeon Crate Exclusive

For the character card, we offered the Onasha sea spirit. Don’t mess with the fey is common knowledge in Halcyon and this Onasha sea spirit is here to remind you why. This full-color illustrated card has handy 5E stats on the back for Game Masters.

Bonus Original Dungeon Crate One-Shot With Stat Cards + RPG Stickers

Because we all like a little extra fun, we tucked in another one-shot with companion stat cards and a cool RPG sticker for your laptop.

Access to the September 2023 Digital Dungeon Crate

Last but not least, we gave all members — whether they get the digital-only version or get the physical crate — access to our fully loaded Digital Dungeon Crate. Downloads included a PDF of the adventure, map, stat cards, and more.
